Alison Streit Baron has been working with Public Conversations Project/Essential Partners since 2006. She has facilitated dialogues, workshops and trainings with the National Association of Mothers' Centers, the YMCA, Hebrew College, United Neighbors of Fall River, and the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association, among many others. An active Unitarian Universalist, she has been a Director of Religious Education and is now an Administrator at a UU congregation. She has also been Assistant Director at the Boston Theological Institute, which promotes interreligious learning among seminary students and faculty. She did her undergraduate work at Wesleyan and her master's degree in sociology at UC Santa Barbara, where her research focused on feminist identity in different generations of white and Latina women. She grew up in New York City but has for years called the Boston area home.
